Traditional Audit vs. Procedural Church Review

Our Procedural Church Review is an alternative to a traditional audit. We have found that most churches do not need a traditional audit for the following reasons:

  • It is not required for compliance reasons. (A traditional audit is generally only needed when the church faces compliance requirements by an outside party).

  • The cost is far too great, as audits are typically at least $10,000 even for small organizations.

  • A financial statement audit does not assess and provide recommendations specific to each church’s needs.

Our Procedural Church Review is more in-depth than a traditional audit. While we do examine financial records, we also suggest impactful, needed corrections, as well as examine various other areas of church accounting and governance.
